About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct support to people with behavioral conditions and intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings.
- Assist with developing, implementing, and documenting treatment plans, ISP/IPs, and clinical programs.
- Provide rehabilitative and behavioral interventions, monitoring, training, and support.
- Assist with activities of daily living, household chores, grocery shopping, meal planning, and cooking.
- Schedule appointments and support money management, fire and safety compliance, and other daily living needs.
- Plan recreational and social activities, outings, community travel, and community-based support services.
- Provide transportation as necessary.
- Assess residents’ physical and emotional status and report changes to supervisors.
- Monitor residents’ funds and maintain records, progress notes, behavior and academic data, electronic health records, and communication logs.
- Store, administer, document, and dispose of medication in accordance with MAC requirements, regulations, and company policy.
- Communicate with nurses, funding agencies, case managers, service providers, physicians, and other interested parties.
- Participate in mandated training and staff meetings; assist with new-staff orientation.
- Maintain program-site safety and perform housekeeping, lawn mowing, snow shoveling, and garbage removal.
- Complete paperwork, logs, timesheets, and online data records.
- Maintain required staffing ratios and provide last-minute coverage when required.
- Advocate for human rights and provide physical intervention or first aid during behavioral or medical emergencies.
- Review and respond to work emails and comply with Vinfen policies.
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least one year of experience and/or training in a related function is preferred.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Valid driver's license required at employment.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Maintained a valid US driver's license for at least six months.
- Able to pass a driver's screening background check.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and perform physically active work.
- Able to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or a two-person lift.
- Ability to operate a computer, calculator, copier, and printer.
- Ability to sit, reach, climb stairs, and maneuver through narrow spaces or hallways.
- Ability to assist clients with activities of daily living.
- Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with clients, staff, and external representatives.
- Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, plus ability to adjust focus.
- CPR required within two weeks of hire.
- First Aid required within two weeks of hire.
- MAC follows CT guidelines.
- Safety Care required within two weeks of hire.
