About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct support to people with psychiatric conditions in a residential group living environment
  • Help orient people served who are new to the residence
  • Collaborate with Integrated Team members to address needs and implement treatment-plan interventions
  • Perform day-to-day assignments as directed by the Program Director
  • Use recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and strengths-based approaches
  • Adhere to safety, maintenance, Human Rights, operational policies, and site licensing requirements
  • Store, administer, document, and dispose of medication according to MAP requirements and company policy
  • Teach medication management
  • Support meal preparation, household operations, and physical site maintenance
  • Encourage social interaction and create a welcoming, collaborative residential environment
  • Advocate for people served and serve as a resource for neighbors
  • Participate in trainings, supervision, and staff meetings
  • Assist with orienting new staff
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports
  • Contribute to quality improvement goals
  • Support crisis intervention and access on-call backup when needed
  • Support evidence-based practices including Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Housing First, Stages of Change, WRAP, Seeking Safety, and Cognitive Behavioral interventions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience working in a human services setting strongly preferred
  • One to two years of job-specific experience in the human services field preferred
  • Preference given to bilingual/bicultural applicants and applicants with lived experience of psychiatric conditions
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have held a valid US driver's license for at least 6 months
  • Must be able to pass a CORI, driving record, employment reference, multi-state background, and driver's screening checks
  • Must become CPR and First Aid certified within two weeks of hire
  • Must become MAP certified within 150 days of hire
  • Strong commitment to supporting people in their community of choice
  • Skills to establish supportive, trusting relationships with people served, families, and neighbors
  • Sensitivity to cultural, religious, ethnic, disability, and gender issues
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and make independent judgments and decisions
  • Ability to work professionally and confidentially
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications and equipment
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, lift at least 25 pounds, operate office equipment, assist with daily living tasks, and communicate effectively
