About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct service in a GLE/SIE residential setting
  • Help Persons Served overcome barriers to and prepare for independent living
  • Implement Treatment Plan support interventions as assigned by the Team LPHA Clinician
  • Administer, document, store and dispose of medications according to MAP policies and procedures
  • Provide crisis interventions and access on-call backup when needed
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable and clean residential environment
  • Orient new residents and assist with orientation of new staff
  • Collaborate with Integrated Team members to address resident needs
  • Perform day-to-day assignments directed by the Program Director
  • Use recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent and strengths-based approaches
  • Comply with safety, maintenance, Human Rights, licensing and operational policies
  • Teach medication management to Persons Served
  • Support meal preparation and physical site maintenance
  • Encourage social interaction and foster a welcoming, collaborative environment
  • Advocate for Persons Served and serve as a resource for neighbors
  • Participate in trainings, supervision and staff meetings
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports
  • Contribute to quality improvement goals and objectives
  • Support evidence-based practices including Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Housing First, Stages of Change, WRAP, Seeking Safety and Cognitive Behavioral interventions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One to two years of job-specific experience in human services field preferred
  • Skills and competence to establish supportive trusting relationships with Persons Served, families and neighbors
  • Sensitivity to cultural, religious, ethnic, disability and gender issues
  • Ability to balance competing priorities
  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions
  • Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications and equipment
  • Valid driver's license required at time of employment
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid US driver's license maintained for at least six months
  • Adequate insurance and safe driving record if using a personal vehicle
  • Ability to pass a driver's screening background check
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, lift at least 25 pounds, and assist Persons Served with daily living tasks
  • Ability to operate a computer and office equipment
  • CPR certification required within two weeks of hire
  • First Aid certification required within two weeks of hire
  • MAP certification required within 150 days of hire
