About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct service in a GLE/SIE residential setting.
- Help Persons Served overcome barriers to and prepare for independent living.
- Implement Treatment Plan support interventions as assigned by the Team LPHA Clinician.
- Administer, document, store, and dispose of medications according to MAP policies and regulations.
- Provide crisis interventions and access on-call backup when needed.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, clean residential environment.
- Orient new residents and assist with orientation of new staff.
- Collaborate with Integrated Team members to address Persons Served’s needs.
- Perform day-to-day assignments directed by the Program Director.
- Apply recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and strengths-based approaches.
- Comply with safety, maintenance, Human Rights, licensing, and operational policies.
- Teach medication management to Persons Served.
- Support meal preparation and physical site maintenance.
- Encourage resident social interaction and a collaborative, welcoming environment.
- Serve as an advocate and resource for Persons Served, families, friends, and neighbors.
- Participate in trainings, supervision, and staff meetings.
- Complete required documentation and incident reports.
- Contribute to quality improvement goals.
- Support evidence-based practices including Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Housing First, Stages of Change, WRAP, Seeking Safety, and Cognitive Behavioral interventions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate’s degree in a human service discipline preferred.
- One to two years of job-specific experience in human services field preferred.
- Bilingual/bicultural applicants and applicants with lived experience of psychiatric conditions are encouraged to apply.
- Driving is required using either a Vinfen van or personal vehicle.
- Personal vehicle users must possess and maintain adequate insurance and a safe driving record subject to annual checks.
- A valid US driver's license must be presented at the time of employment.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have maintained a valid US driver's license for at least six months.
- Must pass a driver's screening background check.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and perform physically active duties.
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or a two-person lift.
- Ability to operate a computer and office equipment such as a calculator, copier, and printer.
- Ability to assist Persons Served with tasks of daily living.
- Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with Persons Served, staff, and external representatives.
- CPR required within two weeks of hire.
- First Aid required within two weeks of hire.
- MAP required within 150 days of hire.
