About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct service in a GLE/SIE residential setting
  • Help Persons Served overcome barriers and prepare for independent living
  • Implement treatment-plan support interventions as directed by the Team LPHA Clinician
  • Administer, document, store and dispose of medications according to MAP requirements and company policy
  • Provide crisis interventions and access on-call backup when needed
  • Collaborate with Integrated Team members to address Persons Served's needs
  • Perform day-to-day assignments directed by the Program Director
  • Use recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent and strengths-based approaches
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable and clean residential environment
  • Participate in meal preparation and physical site maintenance
  • Encourage social interaction and create a collaborative residential environment
  • Advocate for Persons Served and serve as a resource for neighbors
  • Attend trainings, supervision and staff meetings
  • Assist with orienting new staff
  • Complete required and incident documentation
  • Contribute to quality improvement goals and objectives
  • Support evidence-based practices including Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Housing First, Stages of Change, WRAP, Seeking Safety and Cognitive Behavioral interventions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s degree in a human service discipline preferred
  • One year as a residential counselor working with Persons Served facing mental health challenges preferred
  • One to two years of job-specific experience in the human services field preferred
  • Preference given to bilingual/bicultural applicants and applicants with lived experience of psychiatric conditions
  • Valid driver's license required at employment
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid US driver's license maintained for at least six months
  • Adequate insurance and safe driving record if using a personal vehicle
  • Must pass a driver's screening background check
  • CPR required within two weeks of hire
  • First Aid required within two weeks of hire
  • MAP required within 150 days of hire
  • Ability to perform physically active duties, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and lifting at least 25 pounds
  • Ability to operate a computer and office equipment
  • Ability to assist Persons Served with activities of daily living
  • Ability to communicate with Persons Served, staff and external representatives
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications and equipment
  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions
  • Ability to work professionally and confidentially
