About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct service in a GLE/SIE residential setting
  • Help Persons Served overcome barriers and prepare for independent living
  • Implement Treatment Plan support interventions as directed by the Team LPHA Clinician
  • Administer, document, store, and dispose of medications according to MAP policies and regulations
  • Provide crisis interventions and access on-call backup when needed
  • Perform physical site maintenance and ensure a safe, comfortable, clean environment
  • Collaborate with Integrated Team members to address Persons Served’s needs
  • Use recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and strengths-based approaches
  • Comply with safety, Human Rights, licensing, and operational policies
  • Teach Persons Served medication management
  • Support meal preparation and resident participation in residence operations
  • Encourage social interaction and create a collaborative, welcoming environment
  • Advocate for Persons Served and serve as a resource for neighbors
  • Participate in trainings, supervision, and staff meetings
  • Assist with orientation of new staff
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports
  • Contribute to quality improvement goals
  • Support evidence-based practices including Motivational Interviewing, Housing First, Stages of Change, WRAP, Seeking Safety, and Cognitive Behavioral interventions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s degree in a human service discipline preferred
  • One year as a residential counselor working with Persons Served facing mental health challenges preferred
  • One to two years of job-specific experience in the human services field preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required at employment
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid US driver’s license held for at least six months
  • Adequate insurance and safe driving record if using a personal vehicle
  • Ability to pass a driver screening background check
  • CPR certification required within two weeks of hire
  • First Aid certification required within two weeks of hire
  • MAP certification required within 150 days of hire
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, lift at least 25 pounds, and assist Persons Served with daily living tasks
  • Ability to operate a computer and office equipment
  • Ability to communicate with Persons Served, staff, and external representatives
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications and equipment
  • Ability to establish supportive, trusting relationships with Persons Served, families, and neighbors
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and make independent judgments and decisions
  • Ability to work professionally and confidentially
  • Sensitivity to cultural, religious, ethnic, disability, and gender issues
