About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the Global Travel Technology & Services vertical within Virtuoso Partnership
  • Define and maintain a multiyear global category strategy aligned with enterprise priorities and market conditions
  • Lead portfolio composition, identify growth opportunities, coverage gaps, and strategic risks
  • Set partner selection criteria, participation terms, and contract structures
  • Lead partner procurement, evaluation, selection, onboarding, RFPs, and RFIs
  • Negotiate commercial terms and multiyear partner agreements
  • Manage partnerships across travel technology, air, ground transportation, insurance, education, and ancillary travel services
  • Evaluate technology partners for product capability, integration architecture, security, privacy, implementation burden, support, and viability
  • Assess platform integration with booking, mid-office, back-office, and CRM systems
  • Establish technology partnership metrics covering adoption, user experience, and financial return
  • Define partner value propositions, benefits, programs, and engagement models
  • Serve as subject-matter expert for regional leaders, Membership, Product, Marketing, and Events
  • Apply performance data, market insight, and trend analysis to strategy and portfolio decisions
  • Align Partnerships, Regions, Product, Marketing, Events, Finance, and Operations
  • Monitor industry movement, competitive dynamics, and emerging partnership models
  • Represent Virtuoso’s category direction internally and with senior external partner stakeholders
  • Travel internationally to partner markets and industry events approximately 35% to 50%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 7+ years of experience in travel technology, travel, hospitality, aviation, ground transportation, insurance, or a directly relevant category
  • Demonstrated success in category leadership, partner development, or portfolio management
  • Ability to develop and execute category strategy within a complex, matrixed, global organization
  • Strong commercial acumen and direct experience negotiating partner agreements and commercial terms
  • Direct experience selling or leading commercial partnerships for technology products in a business-to-business environment
  • Experience evaluating third-party platforms and vendors, including technical assessment, vendor viability, and implementation risk
  • Working knowledge of software integration concepts, including APIs, data exchange, and authentication
  • Familiarity with data security, privacy, and compliance considerations relevant to travel technology and traveler data
  • Understanding of travel distribution and settlement mechanics, including commission and remuneration structures
  • Deep understanding of partner evaluation, RFP and RFI processes, and governance frameworks
  • Strong analytical capability and experience translating data into executive-level decisions
  • Ability to influence across teams and geographies without direct authority
  • Experience building partnerships across multiple regions and time zones, with cultural fluency
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and executive presentation skills
  • Proficiency with CRM and workflow systems
  • Approximately 35% to 50% travel required
  • General knowledge of insurance, aviation, and ground transportation categories preferred
  • Experience assessing early-stage or venture-backed technology companies preferred
  • Familiarity with Zoho and Smartsheet preferred
