About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and support fixed asset and inventory accounting, including reviewing transactions, recording activity, performing reconciliations and ensuring accurate financial records
  • Prepare journal entries and account adjustments for monthly financial activity, including accruals and other necessary adjustments
  • Analyze financial statements and account activity to identify variances, omitted entries, discrepancies and opportunities for corrective action
  • Reconcile and analyze balance sheet and bank accounts, investigate variances and recommend appropriate adjustments
  • Prepare statistical, financial and ad hoc reports to support financial reporting and business decisions
  • Provide accounting support across general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
  • Prepare and file sales and use tax, business license, property tax and other governmental filings, escalating tax issues when appropriate
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation and other requested information
  • Participate in financial system updates and serve as a subject matter expert, as appropriate
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and department operations
  • Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen processes, improve accuracy and support effective financial stewardship

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Three years of accounting experience required
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and other financial tools and systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and a variable workload throughout the month
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with employees and leaders at all levels
  • A commitment to accountability and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and with all levels of staff and leadership

  • Ability to perform the specified physical requirements, including sitting, standing, walking, lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 10 pounds of force, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, handling, finger dexterity, and driving
  • Accounting degree preferred
  • CPA or CPA in progress preferred
