About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues under minimal supervision
- Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations
- Collaborate with business partner teams and Legal to resolve complex issues and ensure regulatory compliance
- Provide performance management guidance and training to line management
- Improve work relationships, morale, productivity, and retention
- Advise on EAP referrals, suspected impairment, disability accommodation, discrimination, retaliation, union activity, separations, and severance agreements
- Manage and monitor quarterly and annual performance evaluation cycles
- Provide leadership and review the work of HRBP I
- Help leaders and employees navigate organizational transformations and changes in business strategy
- Manage department-wide Human Resources projects and processes
- Design, track, and analyze HR metrics and propose recommendations to improve organizational effectiveness
- Support workforce reporting, turnover analysis, and engagement survey initiatives
- Partner with People Operations, payroll, HRIS, Compensation, and Benefits teams to provide client solutions
- Lead process improvement projects
- Respond to compensation-related questions and collaborate with Total Rewards
- Develop contract terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers
- Assist international employees with visa assignments and related HR matters
- Provide guidance on restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning
- Draft and recommend Employee Handbook policies, FAQ sheets, and practice-specific procedures
- Audit policies, procedures, and practices for compliance with federal and state laws
- Manage client-group audits
- Manage HCM transactional entries, troubleshoot complex transactions, and serve as an HCM subject matter expert
- Present data findings to managers and facilitate workshops or training on leadership, compliance, or DEI topics
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience required
- 4+ years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Behavioral Science, Human Resources Management, or equivalent required
- Experience in a healthcare industry preferred
- Experience working in a multi-state organization preferred
- Human Resources certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of employee relations, conflict resolution, compensation, and internal complaint investigations
- Comprehensive knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations
- Working knowledge of Human Resources policies, procedures, compliance, and practices
- Working knowledge of developing, executing, and maintaining Human Resources projects and programs
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
- Working knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
- Excellent decision-making, interpersonal, customer service, communication, coaching, counseling, investigation, research, conflict resolution, multitasking, prioritization, independent work, business acumen, attention to detail, and adaptability skills
