About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Record and classify incoming and outgoing tax documents, ensuring the correct application of taxation.
- Calculate and reconcile taxes, including ICMS, ICMS-ST, DIFAL, ISS, PIS, COFINS, IPI, withholding taxes, and other taxes applicable to the company’s operations.
- Analyze discrepancies and inconsistencies identified in tax calculations, tax documents, systems, and ancillary tax obligations, identifying their causes and the necessary corrections.
- Prepare, review, and submit ancillary tax obligations, including EFD ICMS/IPI, EFD-Contribuições, GIA, DCTFWeb, EFD-Reinf, and other applicable filings.
- Perform the tax closing process, monitoring deadlines, reconciliations, validations, and departmental controls.
- Analyze tax operations involving purchases, sales, returns, transfers, shipments, contract manufacturing, and other operations applicable to the business.
- Monitor tax legislation and assess the impact of changes on the company’s operations, proposing the necessary process adjustments.
- Conduct tax analyses and controls, identifying risks, inconsistencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Use and update ERP systems and tax tools.
- Guide and support analysts and assistants in tax routines, sharing knowledge and contributing to the team’s technical development.
- Work independently in managing departmental demands, prioritizing activities and escalating situations involving tax risks or the need for decisions to the coordinator.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in tax, including tax calculation and closing activities.
- Knowledge of ICMS, ICMS-ST, DIFAL, ISS, PIS, COFINS, IPI, and withholding taxes.
- Experience with ancillary tax obligations and tax closing routines.
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems; experience with Protheus and/or Domínio is preferred.
- Knowledge of tax legislation and the ability to analyze tax impacts.
- Analytical, organized, self-directed, and strong communication skills.
