About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Float between the Plymouth and Woodbury clinics
- Greet patients and provide general medical assistance
- Perform patient care activities in accordance with standards of practice
- Room clinic patients in person or virtually and update patient charts
- Communicate pertinent patient data to providers and nurses
- Oversee efficient turnover of exam rooms
- Assist providers in exam rooms as requested
- Collect, prepare, and submit ordered patient lab specimens
- Administer injections and vaccines
- Obtain prior authorizations and document them
- Triage patient phone calls and messages and document appropriately
- Order and manage supplies under manager direction
- Clean and stock exam rooms using approved disinfectant
- Assist with obtaining records for patient charts
- Support front desk staff as needed
- Report patient issues and unsafe conditions
- Handle and store hazardous materials properly
- Participate in emergency evacuation procedures
- Participate in staff, CQI, and educational meetings
- Maintain patient and company confidentiality
- Follow company policies, CDC infection-control guidelines, and HIPPA
- Report to the Clinical Operations Manager
- Perform other duties as requested
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school graduate or equivalent, required
- Medical Assistant Certification, required
- CPR/BLS, required prior to start date
- 6 months clinical experience, required
- Phlebotomy and lab processing skills, preferred
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as needed
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer skills for electronic recordkeeping
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines and high work volume
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and patient records
- Must adhere to HIPPA
- Must comply with company policies and procedures
- Must be able to perform required physical duties and use PPE as needed
