About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Welcome and room patients in person or virtually
- Update patient charts with required information
- Communicate pertinent patient data to providers and nurses
- Greet patients and provide front-end administrative support
- Assist with scheduling and manage incoming and outgoing phone calls
- Process payments
- Ensure efficient turnover of exam rooms
- Assist providers in exam rooms as requested
- Collect, prepare, and submit ordered patient lab specimens
- Assist with prior authorizations and treatment documentation
- Triage and appropriately document patient phone calls and messages
- Order and manage supplies under manager direction
- Disinfect and stock exam rooms
- Obtain records required for patient charts
- Report patient issues throughout the treatment day
- Follow company policies and CDC infection-control guidelines
- Handle and store hazardous materials properly
- Maintain confidentiality of company and patient records and adhere to HIPAA
- Communicate schedule changes and assist with patient rescheduling
- Manage incoming mail and deliveries
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school graduate or equivalent, required
- Medical Assistant Certification, preferred
- CPR/BLS certification required prior to start date
- 1 year of experience working within a clinical environment, required
- 1 year of experience in an administrative, patient-facing, or customer service role, required
- Phlebotomy and lab processing skills, preferred
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently
- Outstanding professional communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer skills for electronic recordkeeping
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily
- Ability to use required PPE and comply with infection-control procedures
- Eligible to work in the United States
