About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform patient care activities in accordance with standards of practice
- Room clinic patients in person or virtually and update patient charts
- Communicate pertinent patient data to providers and nurses
- Greet patients and provide administrative/front-end support
- Assist with scheduling, manage incoming and outgoing phone calls, and process payments
- Ensure efficient turnover of exam rooms
- Assist providers in the exam room as requested
- Collect, prepare, and submit ordered patient lab specimens
- Assist the Patient Services team with prior authorizations and documentation
- Triage patient phone calls and messages and document them appropriately
- Order and manage supplies under the manager’s direction
- Disinfect and stock exam rooms
- Obtain records required for patient charts
- Report patient issues throughout the treatment day
- Follow company policies and CDC infection-control guidelines
- Handle and store hazardous materials properly
- Maintain confidentiality of company and patient records and adhere to HIPAA
- Communicate schedule changes and assist with rescheduling patients
- Manage incoming mail and deliveries
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school graduate or equivalent, required
- Medical Assistant Certification, preferred
- CPR/BLS, required prior to start date
- 1 year of experience working within a clinical environment, required
- 1 year in an administrative, patient-facing, or customer service role, required
- Phlebotomy and lab processing skills, preferred
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as needed
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate professionally and effectively with staff members, patients, and physicians
- Computer skills for electronic recordkeeping
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Ability to stand, walk, talk, hear, smell, and use hands for handling and reaching
- Excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity
- Ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to use required safety equipment and PPE
- Proof of eligibility to work in the US
