About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the communication hub for patients, referring providers, VIVO Clinical Operations, VIVO Intake Department, RISS Team and PRO Teams
- Establish strong working relationships with assigned physicians/practice managers, RISS and VIVO support teams
- Understand and communicate physician preferences for patient care
- Establish rapport with patients and caregivers
- Investigate, triage, and resolve patient issues
- Proactively assist patients to minimize issues
- Escalate issues to physicians, department supervisors, or other appropriate parties
- Coordinate with support teams for accurate intake registration, insurance verification, scheduling and PRO resources
- Evaluate needs and coordinate with the education department to create content/experts for in-services
- Support and participate in process improvement efforts
- Follow telephone etiquette and service standards when interacting with patients
- Support and adhere to VIVO policies and procedures
- Ensure accurate and timely responses while promoting efficient patient experiences, reducing financial loss and ensuring compliance
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent, required
- Minimum 3 years of related prior work experience in a healthcare environment; outpatient clinic settings preferred
- Proven competencies can take precedence over prior work experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology required
- Prior experience working with sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality, required
- Proficient (intermediate level of application) with all Microsoft Office Products programs
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Technical ability to navigate a system for data input
- Ability to perform basic math sufficient to understand patient financial obligations and concerns
- Working knowledge of PC window applications sufficient to input and retrieve data
- High level of customer service experience
- Ability to adapt to changing technology, policies, procedures and processes
- Demonstrated interest in process improvement or adopting new processes and/or technology
- Demonstrated ability to understand medical insurance information
- Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a hectic environment
- Demonstrated success in working remotely
- Demonstrated independent thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to exercise judgment to triage issues and concerns
- Ability to switch from one task to another successfully in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including vision abilities and standing, walking, talking, hearing, smelling, sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, and using hands and arms
