About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and evolve high-performance video processing components using modern C++
- Work on components for processing, transcoding, and handling professional video in demanding production environments
- Solve technical problems involving performance, reliability, and efficient processing of video and media
- Contribute to software architecture and the long-term direction of the technology
- Potentially contribute to backend components including the Vizrt Media Sequencer
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs
- Design and implement new functionality
- Improve software performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple countries and teams
- Contribute to technical leadership, mentoring, and architectural decision-making
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent skills and experience
- Software engineering experience with modern C++
- Experience with Python and/or C#, or interest in working with the languages
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
- Experience troubleshooting, profiling, and improving complex software systems
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles and best practices
- Experience with automated testing
- Experience collaborating across teams, mentoring colleagues, or contributing to technical decision-making
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Good communication and team-working skills
