About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Architect and evolve the unified TypeScript booking layer
- Build integrations with medical-center software, including systems without APIs
- Improve speed and reliability at more than 1 million calls per month
- Define detection of booking failures within 24 hours
- Develop hard-to-replace integrations with EHR, PMS, RIS, dental, and other healthcare systems
- Prepare US integrations and address HIPAA and SOC2 compliance work
- Define engineering team processes, including reviews, documentation, and technical decisions
- Collaborate daily with operations and support teams
- Own an integration end to end, from software vendor through production
- Hire at least one engineer into the integrations team
- Participate in live coding and architecture discussions during the interview process
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years building backend systems in production, mostly in startups or fast-growing companies
- Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills, or strong backend experience in Go, Python, or Java with readiness to become strong in TypeScript
- Experience integrating systems not controlled by you
- Understanding of the difference between clean APIs and real-world integrations
- Strong system design and clean refactoring practices
- Ability to assess risks in untested generated code
- Ability to reduce scope, say no, and explain technical decisions clearly
- Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, monorepos, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, and SOAP APIs
- Ability to work at least 3 days per week in the Paris office
