About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and manage Vodafone Idea Limited’s IP/MPLS network
- Prepare HLD/LLD documents for all IP/MPLS transport services
- Handle NLD and ISP domains, including ISP peering and internet exits
- Maintain the database for services and related RD/RT/VLAN/prefixes, with periodic updates
- Conduct quarterly service audits and corrections
- Drive automation in network design and prepare MoP templates
- Prepare MoPs for all types of services
- Ensure network security compliance while delivering MoPs to SNOC
- Perform end-to-end service planning, optimization and performance management
- Discuss requirements with user groups
- Create requirement documents including IP, bandwidth, SLA and routing matrices
- Prepare solution documents, HLDs and LLDs
- Prepare, test and validate multivendor MoPs
- Conduct proofs of concept for new setups
- Create change requests and issue MoPs to operations and NOC teams
- Support NOC teams during MoP execution
- Maintain databases for IP, VLAN, RT and RD information
- Align QoS with policy and maintain security policies
- Manage service mergers and improve MoP accuracy and delivery automation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, Information Technology or relevant field
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with large scale IP/MPLS networks
- 5–10 years of experience working with large scale IP/MPLS networks
- 5 years’ experience in IP planning/Operation field
- In-depth knowledge of IP/MPLS/L2/L3 routing technologies
- Strong knowledge of BGP, ISIS, OSPF, LDP, TE and other IP routing protocols
- Knowledge of SDN, NFV, SD-WAN, telecom data centers and related concepts
- In-depth knowledge of router/switch commands and troubleshooting methods
- Ability to independently prepare data/configuration scripts for Cisco, Juniper, Huawei and ZTE routers
- Working knowledge of automation scripting, Python and YANG
- Deep understanding of multivendor router/switch hardware and service flows
- In-depth knowledge of 2G/3G/4G technologies, NLD and ISP topology and service flows
- Knowledge of end-to-end mobile solutions, mobile and packet core concepts and related technologies
- Knowledge of network management systems and networking concepts
- High-level understanding of IP transport security concepts
- Communication skills and ability to engage and manage large-scale teams
- Cisco/Juniper/Huawei certifications (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE/JNCA) are preferable
