About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform installation and maintenance activities supporting fixed and mobile networks and Vodafone business solutions
- Regularly climb fixed and mobile infrastructure and work on rooftops
- Participate in regular health assessments to ensure safe performance of the role
- Adhere to quality and health and safety standards and achieve agreed performance targets
- Travel as required to meet business demands
- Participate in a 24/7 callout rota and/or shift pattern when required
- Perform manual lifting, climb stairs, walk and remain on feet for extended periods in indoor and outdoor environments
- Install, commission and maintain the Vodafone network, products and services to agreed standards and service levels
- Follow Vodafone HSE Absolute Rules
- Communicate professionally and promptly with internal and external customers
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and challenge processes to deliver operational excellence
Requirements
What you’ll need- Candidates must hold SC Clearance or be eligible for SC Clearance
- To become eligible for SC Clearance, candidates must demonstrate residency in the UK for the past 5 years
- Formal telecoms/electronic qualification or equivalent experience gained through previous roles
- Experience in provision of service, fault diagnosis and rectification of relevant telecoms technologies
- Knowledge of multi-vendor CPE including Cisco, Juniper and ADVA
- Knowledge of core transmission technologies including DWDM and Ethernet
- Knowledge of mobile networking technologies 3G/4G/5G and associated equipment
- Knowledge of Microwave Radio
- Knowledge of switch and field DC power systems
- Knowledge of fibre and copper cabling and termination
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Ability to work efficiently, safely and independently during lone working
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to manage own workload
- Adaptability and ability to learn new skills quickly
- Valid/full UK/EU driving licence, Category B
- Excellent customer-facing skills
- Ability to achieve and maintain SC clearance status
- Ability to achieve and maintain Advanced Climber / Tower Rescue Certification and pass regular health assessments in accordance with MATS guidance
- HND or degree in an appropriate technical subject or relevant industry experience is desirable
- IP & Data accreditations such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP are desirable
- Wireless network design and deployment is desirable
- LAN/WIFI and peripheral equipment knowledge is desirable
- Unified communications solutions knowledge is desirable
- Advanced Climber / Tower Rescue Certification is desirable
