About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform installation and maintenance activities supporting fixed and mobile networks and Vodafone business solutions
- Regularly climb fixed and mobile infrastructure and work on rooftops
- Undertake regular health assessments to ensure safe working
- Adhere to quality and health and safety standards and achieve agreed performance targets
- Travel as required to meet business demands
- Participate in a 24/7 callout rota and/or shift pattern when required
- Perform physical work including manual lifting, climbing stairs, walking and standing for extended periods in indoor and outdoor environments
- Install, commission and maintain Vodafone networks, products and services to agreed standards and service levels
- Follow Vodafone HSE Absolute Rules
- Communicate professionally and promptly with internal and external customers
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and challenge existing processes and procedures
- Work as part of the Vodafone Field Engineering team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability and willingness to undergo and obtain Secure Vetting (SC) clearance
- Candidates must hold SC Clearance or be eligible for SC Clearance
- To become eligible for SC Clearance, demonstrate residency in the UK for the past 5 years
- Formal telecoms/electronic qualification or equivalent experience gained through previous roles
- Experience with provision of service, fault diagnosis and rectification of relevant telecoms technologies
- Knowledge of multi-vendor CPE including Cisco, Juniper and ADVA
- Knowledge of DWDM and Ethernet core transmission technologies
- Knowledge of 3G/4G/5G mobile networking technologies and associated equipment
- Knowledge of Microwave Radio
- Knowledge of switch and field DC power systems
- Knowledge of fibre and copper cabling and termination
- Ability to work both in a team and independently
- Ability to work safely and efficiently during lone working
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to manage own workload
- Adaptability and ability to learn new skills quickly
- PC skills (IT literacy)
- Valid/full UK/EU Category B driving licence
- Excellent customer-facing skills
- Ability to achieve and maintain SC clearance status
- Ability to achieve and maintain Advanced Climber / Tower Rescue Certification
- Passing regular health assessments in accordance with MATS guidance
