About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Run the AI factory in Tydal, Norway, with accountability for safety, security, uptime, reliability and efficient operation
  • Report to the Regional Director of Operations
  • Lead the on-site operations team, including the Critical Facility Manager and IT Infrastructure Manager
  • Own critical facility infrastructure across power and cooling
  • Oversee IT infrastructure deployment and maintenance
  • Maintain customer SLA performance and manage vendors and contractors
  • Operate and maintain critical power and cooling infrastructure
  • Run preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programmes
  • Own capacity planning across power, cooling and space
  • Drive energy efficiency and ensure BMS, EPMS and DCIM alarms and data are managed accurately
  • Oversee MOPs, SOPs, EOPs and change management
  • Plan and coordinate IT infrastructure deployments and customer installations
  • Maintain asset, rack, power-chain and cabling records
  • Act as the main on-site customer contact and lead service reviews
  • Lead incident management, root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Select, contract and manage vendors and OEMs
  • Lead team scheduling, on-call rotations, training and performance management
  • Own the site operating budget and contribute to capital planning
  • Maintain health and safety, physical security, business continuity and disaster recovery compliance
  • Prepare the site for audits, customer inspections and emergency drills
  • Travel occasionally to other sites and supplier facilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years in mission-critical facility or data centre operations
  • At least 3 years in a management or supervisory role
  • A degree in electrical, mechanical or electronic engineering, computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Hands-on knowledge of UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, CRAH/CRAC and BMS/EPMS
  • Experience delivering colocation, hyperscale or enterprise data centre services against customer SLAs
  • Experience managing vendors, contracts and operating budgets
  • Experience with incident management and root cause analysis
  • Leadership and communication skills to develop a site team and manage customer relationships
  • Working knowledge of DCIM, CMMS, BMS and ticketing systems
  • Based at or within commuting distance of Tydal
  • Ability to take part in an on-call rotation
  • Right to work in the country where the role is based
  • Certifications such as CDCP/CDCS/CDCE, Uptime Institute ATD/AOS, CDFOM, ITIL Foundation, PMP, NEBOSH or OSHA are an advantage
