About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define the engineering vision and long-term technical roadmap for Network Powered Solutions, aligning investment and priorities with product strategy and commercial OKRs
Represent engineering on the SA NwPS leadership team alongside Product, Solution Sales, and Strategic BD
Partner with the CTO, Architecture, and SA CPaaS Engineering to shape shared platform standards and practices
Define NwPS engineering architectural direction and directly lead the Architecture function
Establish architectural standards, technical design governance, and domain architecture for all NwPS products
Lead technical decision-making on platform design, CSP integration patterns, and engineering standards
Shape and execute the agentic AI and data platform engineering strategy
Set technical direction for AI-based analytics and insight platforms
Partner with Product on proof-of-concepts, product opportunities, investment decisions, and production readiness
Translate engineering strategy into end-to-end delivery across NwPS products, setting standards for quality, cycle time, and operational excellence
Own QA/SDET capability and SRE practices for platform reliability at scale
Support DevRel engineering for the NwPS developer ecosystem
Collaborate with Product, Commercial, and the GM to turn thought leadership into engineering outcomes for agentic AI, digital identity, and emerging network API categories

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven experience leading engineering organisations in SaaS, data platform, or AI/ML product businesses at scale, at VP or Senior Director level
Hands-on experience with cloud-native engineering and AWS in a product environment
Track record building or leading agentic AI or AI-based analytics platforms, with a strong understanding of data-driven product architecture
Demonstrated ability to scale and lead distributed, multi-squad engineering teams, including significant team growth and management through structural change
Ability to operate as both a strategic thought leader and a credible technical authority
Startup or scale-up experience; comfortable with ambiguity, calculated risks, and rapid execution
Strong collaboration with Product, Commercial, and executive stakeholders across EMEA and APAC time zones
Familiarity with telco/network API standards (CAMARA, GSMA) or CSP integration patterns (plus)
Experience with developer-facing API products or platforms (plus)
Background in identity, authentication, or network-based security products (plus)
Exposure to FinTech, Healthcare, or Transportation verticals as end-customer segments (plus)
