About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop the back-end elements of code bases across products outside of the tank gauge, including CDM, WebUI, PlusView, and associated infrastructure
Maintain infrastructure for applications such as the API and licensing service
Design, develop, and test back-end elements of applications, including on-console UI, WebUI, CDM, and mobile applications
Architect web and application solutions outside of and integrating with the ATG
Mentor less experienced engineers and help establish standards for internal web-focused development
Support and partner with front-end software engineers on solutions, problem-solving, processes, and standards
Participate in an Agile/Scrum team and provide analysis
Act as Scrum Master or Product Owner when appropriate
Participate in process improvement activities to release high-quality software on time
Perform other duties assigned by the manager

Requirements

What you’ll need

B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience required
5–7 years of experience in commercial software development, focusing on back-end application elements
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in an embedded environment a plus
Strong knowledge of web development standards and multiple JavaScript languages, such as React and Angular, and mobile application frameworks, such as React Native
Strong knowledge of architectural needs for web-based applications and ability to build and/or redesign them to meet current standards and business strategies, requirements, and roadmaps
Front-end web development experience a plus
Proficiency in Python a plus
Proficiency with Agile/Scrum software methodologies required
Embedded systems experience a nice-to-have
Strong Linux Embedded operating systems and Linux-based development tools a plus
Proficiency with source control required
Proficiency in secure product development a plus
