About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Automate the build, deployment, and management of applications and infrastructure
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to support application deployment and infrastructure needs
- Design and implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
- Debug and troubleshoot production issues
- Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to best practices
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend infrastructure upgrades and improvements
- Document system designs, processes, and best practices
- Ensure the reliability and performance of systems and services
- Mentor and guide junior DevOps Engineers in best practices
- Create high-level architectural designs and proof-of-concept implementations
- Leverage AI tooling to accelerate DevOps activities, including deployments, code generation, testing, and documentation
- Influence the strategic direction of the DevOps team
- Design and implement solutions for complex application landscapes, high availability, and disaster recovery
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders, drive organizational change, and participate in hiring efforts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in a related position
- Master level knowledge of AI-enhanced devops tools, including Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, GitLab Duo, and New Relic AI
- Expert level understanding of distributed systems, networks, and operating systems
- Expert level proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, JavaScript, or C#
- Expert level knowledge of cloud computing, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Expert level familiarity with configuration management tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
- Expert level understanding of containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Expert level problem-solving skills
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
- Advanced level ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to maintain compliance with department knowledge requirements
- May have incidental access to and responsibility for securing PHI/PI, human resource information, financial administrative accounts, corporate accounts, and corporate application access
