About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with Sales in performance discussions and align priorities
  • Attend sales calls and market visits to identify opportunities
  • Analyze monthly performance to identify risks and opportunities
  • Provide stakeholder guidance, recommendations, and follow-through
  • Optimize product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies for Pacific Northwest and western US retail chains excluding California
  • Integrate syndicated, store-level, panel, depletion, and primary/secondary research data
  • Deliver timely, high-quality analyses and explain business performance drivers
  • Prepare reports on category performance, market trends, and KPIs
  • Present insights and recommendations to retailers and senior leadership
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales on selling stories and go-to-market strategies
  • Develop bottom-up annual business plans with Sales
  • Develop forecasts based on business performance, category trends, pricing cycles, risks, and opportunities
  • Manage projects and customer meeting workflows
  • Conduct post-promotional reviews and translate learnings into actionable insights
  • Provide wine and spirits industry thought leadership through data-driven analyses and trends
  • Pilot innovative approaches to strengthen business analysis and decision-making

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2-5 years’ category management experience in CPG/Category Analyst role and syndicated research (Circana/Nielsen)
  • Self-motivated professional with proactive ownership of projects
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Expert in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook required
  • Experience with Circana/Nielsen/Numerator Consumer Panel data preferred
  • Experience with regional or national Grocery or Club retailers preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, math and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in data extraction, analysis, and presentation creation/delivery
  • Ability to leverage data and insights to tell compelling fact-based selling stories
  • Comfortable presenting ideas and concepts and contributing to a cross-functional team environment
  • Knowledge of Beverage Alcohol Industry a plus
  • Willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Location flexible within the Western time zone; strong preference for candidates residing in AZ, NV, WA or OR
