About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the operational orchestration of Waabi's vehicle fleet
  • Track every vehicle across its full lifecycle, from receiving and build-out through integration, testing, active deployment, and maintenance
  • Own day-of fleet execution, managing intra-site and inter-site handoffs
  • Serve as the primary point of contact when issues arise across vehicles, crews, dispatch, and commercial operations
  • Track crew staffing against operational capacity and proactively flag situations requiring adjustments
  • Run fleet planning syncs across hardware, operations, and engineering teams
  • Maintain weekly resource allocation plans and forward-looking capacity forecasts
  • Generate executive-ready analyses surfacing tradeoffs and actionable recommendations
  • Own and evolve fleet management tooling, defining business requirements with Engineering and Product
  • Drive tooling adoption to replace manual processes and improve operational workflows
  • Partner with scheduling, HR systems, and data infrastructure to ensure accurate fleet data flows
  • Document and continuously improve fleet coordination processes as the fleet, customer base, and operational footprint grow

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience in fleet planning, asset management, or logistics coordination supporting Class 8 or autonomous vehicle fleets
  • Strong technical aptitude with experience in fleet management and telematics/ELD platforms, or similar operational systems
  • Familiarity with the full asset lifecycle of an autonomous vehicle fleet, including deployment, maintenance, downtime, and operational readiness
  • Ability to own recurring resource and capacity planning cycles, including allocation plans and forward-looking capacity forecasts against operational demand
  • Ability to balance fleet and crew availability and proactively identify backfill needs
  • Experience running recurring cross-functional meetings and driving decisions with clear owners and dates
  • Strong data fluency, including combining data across systems, analyzing operational performance, and identifying capacity or availability constraints
  • Experience partnering with Engineering and Product to define business requirements and improve or automate operational workflows
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, including accurate record-keeping across operational systems
  • Passion for self-driving technologies, solving hard problems, and building a culture of safety and operational excellence
  • Occasional travel to other operational sites may be required
  • Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations, including Hours of Service, DVIR, pre/post-trip inspection requirements, and DOT annual inspections (bonus)
  • Uses AI tools day to day to plan, analyze and automate work (bonus)
