About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own technical integration of the Waabi Driver with an OEM partner from program setup through driverless operation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary Engineers and Research Scientists using an AI-first approach to enable safe self-driving at scale
- Create integrated program plans covering Waabi and OEM deliverables, cross-team dependencies and critical path
- Balance resources and priorities across Hardware, Embedded, Onboard, Infra and Autonomy
- Make trade-off decisions when plans affect one another
- Serve as Waabi's technical face to the OEM and build trust from executive reviews to engineering teams
- Work with engineers on test vehicles to triage integration issues and drive them to decisions
- Identify schedule risks, provide recommended options and escalate early
- Maintain Waabi's technical standards with OEM partners
- Develop and maintain program reporting for Waabi leadership and partner executive forums
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of engineering experience in vehicle development, autonomous vehicles, ADAS or robotics
- 3+ years leading technical integration programs
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer or Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
- Breadth across actuation and autonomy system integration, including sensors, compute, embedded and software
- Ability to rapidly investigate technical issues with engineers, reach decisions and return to the program view
- Problem solving using dependency mapping, critical-path analysis and risk management
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Comfort with ambiguity and startup pace
- Collaborative team-player mindset
- Passion for self-driving technologies and innovative solutions
- Preferred: understanding of vehicle OEM planning, gating, validation and decision processes, including vehicle programs, DVP&R, V&V and supplier management
- Preferred: experience with commercial truck or heavy-duty vehicle platforms
- Preferred: hands-on experience with test vehicles, CAN vehicle networks and field issue triage
- Preferred: experience with Jira and AI tools that reduce manual tracking
- Preferred: technical experience developing self-driving vehicles
