About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define SEO and GEO strategies with account leads and senior strategists
  • Understand client products, audiences, and business goals to set priorities and recommendations
  • Independently manage projects, workstreams, and deliverables across multiple client programs
  • Delegate and review work from interns, Specialists, and Senior Specialists
  • Conduct and review technical SEO and GEO audits covering crawlability, indexing, rendering, site architecture, internal linking, structured data, and crawler access
  • Work with web teams to implement and validate fixes
  • Research keywords, buyer questions, AI prompts, competitors, publications, communities, and sources shaping AI answers
  • Develop content briefs, outlines, and content optimization recommendations
  • Define measurement plans and prepare and review reporting
  • Analyze organic search performance, qualified traffic, conversions, AI visibility, share of voice, brand mentions, citations, and competitor trends
  • Participate in client conversations, explain complex concepts, and provide consultative recommendations
  • Communicate strategy, findings, and metrics to practitioners and executives
  • Identify roadblocks and opportunities for additional agency services
  • Manage direct reports or interns and coach teammates as needed
  • Coordinate scope, priorities, deadlines, and execution with account leads and other disciplines
  • Use AI assistants for research, analysis, and ideation while checking sources and outputs
  • Stay current on SEO, GEO, analytics, and marketing trends; test approaches and share learnings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of relevant experience is a useful guide; depth of work matters most
  • Strong track record in SEO, including complex client programs and demonstrated results
  • Practical experience improving visibility in AI-generated answers through GEO or AEO, including audits, optimization, and measurement
  • Deep technical SEO knowledge and ability to investigate issues, provide developer recommendations, and verify implementation
  • Expert-level judgment across audience, keyword and prompt research, content optimization, site architecture, authority, and measurement
  • Experience with Google Search Console, GA4, crawl tools, SEO research platforms, and AI visibility tools
  • Ability to analyze raw and complex data and identify actionable insights
  • Ability to understand clients’ products, solutions, buyer personas, business context, CMS, analytics, and related platforms
  • Clear writing and confident client communication, including with senior leaders
  • Consultative mindset, curiosity about SEO and GEO, sound judgment when using AI assistants, proactive problem-solving, and ability to manage multiple client priorities
