About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support category management through supplier negotiations and purchase order management
- Resolve supplier-related issues and facilitate new supplier setup for stores and online channels
- Execute customer communication and education programs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on category features, promotions, and modular assortment implementation
- Analyze sales data and support forecasting and budgeting aligned with financial targets
- Guide suppliers in developing customer-focused processes
- Maintain item setup and pricing recommendations
- Support merchandising strategy and execution for the Lawn & Garden Chemicals category
- Optimize product information and omni-channel customer engagement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree OR 2 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area
- Proven experience in vendor relationship management and supplier negotiations within retail or related sectors
- Strong skills in category strategy development and execution
- Ability to analyze data, derive insights, and create reports
- Proficiency in managing purchase orders and resolving supplier-related issues
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally on promotional activities and customer communication programs
- Capability to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking at category or subcategory level
- Commitment to integrity, compliance, and ethical business practices
- Preferred: Microsoft Office
- Preferred: Negotiating with third-party suppliers
- Preferred: Pricing, site merchandising, planning or inventory, or related area
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Merchandising
