About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on action plans, information, and best practices
  • Build stakeholder relationships and implement business solutions
  • Support supplier negotiations and manage purchase orders for assigned categories/subcategories
  • Resolve supplier issues and set up new suppliers, stores, and online items
  • Obtain missing item information from suppliers and distributors
  • Support activity planning, store trainings, and store communications
  • Execute customer communication and education programs in stores
  • Own category search queries and ensure product page content quality and accuracy
  • Follow taxonomy guidelines and collaborate with Site Merchandising on homepage campaigns
  • Implement search-result filtering rules
  • Analyze customer behavior, demand trends, and buying patterns across channels
  • Track category financial performance and support sales reporting, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Develop and execute approved store and online feature proposals and monthly category themes
  • Use data analysis and visualization tools to derive insights and create reports
  • Drive technology changes within scope of work
  • Support item configuration, cross-referencing, imagery sample management, and store item setup
  • Support COOP agreements and recommend base or adjusted pricing
  • Implement modular layout principles, execute walkthroughs, recommend adjustments, and support finalized modular assortments
  • Build relationships, develop talent, coach and mentor associates, and promote collaboration
  • Uphold Walmart values, integrity, compliance, customer focus, continuous improvement, and an omnichannel mindset

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree OR 2 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising or related field (preferred)
  • Microsoft Office
  • Negotiating with third-party suppliers
  • Pricing
  • Site merchandising, planning or inventory, or related area
  • Ability to comply with Walmart policies, code of conduct, laws, and drug-free workplace policy
