About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support merchants in supplier negotiations and manage purchase orders for assigned categories
- Assist in resolving supplier issues and facilitate setup of new suppliers for stores and online channels
- Execute customer communication and education programs with cross-functional teams
- Maintain accurate product page content and compliance with taxonomy guidelines
- Analyze sales and category performance data for budgeting, forecasting, and inventory planning
- Implement approved promotional features and modular assortment strategies across channels
- Use data tools to generate insights and support technology adoption within the category
- Contribute to relevant assortments, customer value, new brand introductions, and improved shopping experiences for dog food, livestock, poultry, and equine products
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree OR 2 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area
- Proven experience in vendor relationship management and supplier negotiations within retail or e-commerce environments
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales and business data to support category strategy and forecasting
- Proficiency in managing product assortment, pricing, and item setup across channels
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and support category administration and promotional activities
- Detail-oriented with experience in purchase order management and resolving supplier-related issues
- Familiarity with digital tools for data analysis and reporting
- Preferred: Microsoft Office; negotiating with third-party suppliers; pricing; site merchandising; planning or inventory, or related area
