About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze member buying behaviors, channel-specific trends, member feedback, and customer experience touchpoints
  • Interpret member, merchandise, sales, competitor, industry, and macroeconomic data to develop insights and recommendations
  • Identify opportunities for new items, categories, assortment improvements, and enhanced member experiences
  • Evaluate channel strategies, shipping and packaging costs, item availability, and financial implications
  • Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, Supply Chain, Operations, and cross-functional partners to identify inefficiencies and improve processes
  • Monitor inventory, item quality, shrink, waste, planograms, item placement, and impacts on profit and loss
  • Support financial planning, business cases, ROI and cost-savings initiatives, hindsight analysis, seasonal reporting, and inventory purchase decisions
  • Conduct basic supplier negotiations and protect company value while building trust and creating value for counterparties
  • Analyze assortment performance by channel and develop plans to optimize item and category performance
  • Evaluate private-brand and national-brand roles, item roles, product quality, packaging, placement, and space utilization
  • Build stakeholder relationships, implement business solutions, monitor progress, and adapt to changing priorities
  • Demonstrate Walmart values, respect for individuals, integrity, customer/member focus, continuous improvement, and commitment to team development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have completed a Summer 2026 Walmart or Sam's Club internship to be eligible
  • Immigration sponsorship is not available for this role
  • Knowledge of member buying behaviors across channels and channel-specific consumption trends
  • Knowledge of member experience touchpoints and feedback collection techniques
  • Ability to interpret member data, including purchase frequency, NPS, and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to research industry, macroeconomic, competitor, supplier, and market trends
  • Ability to analyze merchandise, sales, assortment, item, and category performance data
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools, dashboards, data sources, and basic statistical analysis
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain and Operations activities, process flows, compliance, regulatory, and safety guidelines
  • Understanding of profit and loss statements, financial management, business cases, ROI, and cost savings
  • Knowledge of negotiation concepts, techniques, company policies, laws, and regulations
  • Knowledge of assortment strategies, warehouse model principles, market and trend analysis
  • Knowledge of private brand strategies, product guidelines, quality metrics, distribution channels, and packaging guidelines
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional partners, suppliers, vendors, and leaders
