About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

  • Learn the core merchandising business and support functions including Private Brands, Sourcing, Planning, Business Analytics, and Replenishment
  • Complete a meaningful project during the 11-week summer internship
  • Network with industry experts and develop professional skills
  • Work on data analysis, statistical analysis, reporting, visualization, and technology change
  • Execute customer communication and education programs and collaborate with modular and site merchandising teams
  • Support category finances, sales reporting, forecasting, budgeting, financial planning, and inventory purchase decisions
  • Develop and execute approved store and online feature proposals and monthly category features
  • Support modular layouts, walkthroughs, assortment decisions, replenishment, and finalized modulars
  • Resolve supplier issues, set up new suppliers, obtain item information, and support activity planning, store training, and store communications
  • Execute business plans and cross-functional initiatives, communicate priorities, remove performance barriers, and develop contingency plans
  • Manage merchandising programs, customer and company communications, associate training content, and strategic initiatives
  • Provide recommendations and insights to senior management and business partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program currently
  • Expected graduation date between December 2026 - May 2027
  • Students in their penultimate year of college
  • Desired majors: General Business, Retail/Buying, Merchandising, Economics, Accounting/Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, Entrepreneurship
  • Curiosity, digital and financial acumen, and robust problem-solving skills
  • Ability to leverage data analysis tools, perform basic statistical analysis, derive insights, create reports, and use visualization tools
  • Ability to support merchandising, budgeting and forecasting, shopper/customer experience, features and promotions, modular and assortment, category administration, business execution, and strategic initiatives
