About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide strategic legal advice regarding litigation, disputes, and pre-litigation matters
- Develop and execute litigation strategies with business stakeholders and outside counsel
- Oversee pleadings, discovery, motion practice, expert development, trial preparation, settlement negotiations, and appeals
- Collaborate with teams and counsel to gather facts, develop case strategies, manage budgets, and resolve legal matters efficiently
- Conduct legal analysis and research
- Draft and review legal documents
- Support business initiatives with practical, business-oriented advice
- Drive continuous improvement in litigation management processes, outside counsel strategy, and operational effectiveness
Requirements
What you’ll need- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree / law degree from an accredited law school
- Admission/license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction/state
- 4 years’ experience in law
- 3–5 years of litigation experience
- Experience managing complex litigation matters, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, and oversight of outside counsel
- Deposition and trial experience
- Strong understanding of state and federal rules of civil procedure
- Ability to partner with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to assess risk and resolve disputes
- Strong analytical, advocacy, and communication skills
- Ability to provide practical, business-focused legal advice
