About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and lead Walmart’s enterprise autonomous transportation strategy and roadmap
  • Advise senior leaders on autonomous technology, industry trends, opportunities, and risks
  • Lead, develop, and coach a high-performing engineering team
  • Identify use cases, build business cases, and prioritize investments
  • Evaluate technologies and select strategic partners and vendors
  • Develop commercial models and negotiate agreements with internal and external partners
  • Lead autonomous programs from concept and pilot through scaled deployment
  • Establish performance metrics and use data to drive decisions
  • Build alignment across Transportation, Operations, Product, Safety, Legal, and other stakeholders
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on autonomous transportation
  • Translate industry developments into actionable strategies and investment recommendations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field and 5 years’ experience in Engineering, supply chain, or a related area; or 7 years’ experience in Engineering, supply chain, or a related area
  • 3 years’ supervisory experience
  • Deep expertise in autonomous vehicles, transportation technology, robotics, or related systems
  • Demonstrated ability to develop technology strategies and translate them into executable roadmaps
  • Strong people leadership with experience building and developing high-performing teams
  • Experience developing business cases and evaluating complex investments
  • Strong commercial acumen, including vendor selection, partnerships, and contract development
  • Experience taking emerging technologies from pilot through scaled deployment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and executive communication skills
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and align cross-functional stakeholders around complex strategic decisions
