Key responsibilities & impact

Lead design and development of scalable, cloud-native AI-powered software systems and intelligent automation solutions
Translate domain-level strategies into system-level implementations
Ensure architectural integrity and reliability
Drive operational excellence through technical guidance, code reviews, and strategic architectural decisions
Champion DevOps and CI/CD practices for resilient, observable, and performant services
Mentor engineers across teams
Identify and resolve architectural bottlenecks
Automate manual processes and improve engineering velocity
Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives
Contribute to Walmart Global Tech's Marketplace Engineering team, which powers Walmart's global eCommerce platform and tools for storefront management, pricing, and inventory control

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 8 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
Extensive experience in system-level technical leadership
Experience delivering scalable, reliable software solutions with architectural integrity
Expertise designing and developing cloud-native, AI-powered systems integrating advanced AI/ML components
Strong proficiency in software security, continuous development, and operational due diligence
Experience leading the full software development lifecycle
DevOps and CI/CD expertise
Problem-solving skills focused on platform design, debugging, and continuous improvement
Coaching and mentoring capabilities
Ability to adapt to change with sound technical judgment and collaborative communication
Preferred: Master's degree and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area
Preferred knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices
