Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the design and development of scalable, cloud-native, AI-powered software systems and intelligent automation solutions
  • Translate domain-level strategies into system-level implementations while ensuring architectural integrity and reliability
  • Drive operational excellence through technical guidance, code reviews, and strategic architectural decisions
  • Champion DevOps and CI/CD practices to ensure resilient, observable, and performant services
  • Identify and resolve architectural bottlenecks to improve scalability and developer experience
  • Mentor engineers and foster continuous learning and high standards in design and delivery
  • Build new Big Data capabilities focused on improving Spark job performance and optimizing workloads
  • Develop approaches to meet Big Data SLAs while reducing cloud capacity requirements
  • Collaborate across teams and align cross-functional stakeholders
  • Contribute to Walmart's innovation, quality, and customer-focused technology solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 8 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
  • Proven expertise in designing and building scalable, cloud-native software systems and AI-powered solutions
  • Strong technical leadership experience driving architectural integrity and operational excellence across engineering teams
  • Deep knowledge of AI agents, Big Data, and reliability engineering
  • Experience leading the full software development lifecycle, including DevOps and CI/CD best practices
  • Exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills
  • Commitment to high standards in design, testing, and delivery
  • Strong problem-solving skills in performance optimization
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in a related area and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area
  • Preferred knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices
