About the role

- Lead technical discovery and requirements analysis for complex Marketplace initiatives
- Translate business goals into scalable technical solutions
- Resolve conflicting stakeholder requirements
- Shape roadmaps and engineering investments
- Guide technical design artifacts, epics, and implementation plans
- Drive secure, scalable, highly available Marketplace systems
- Oversee system health, vulnerability management, and architectural risk mitigation
- Partner with security and compliance teams
- Advise senior leadership and influence platform investments
- Lead cross-functional technical discussions and decisions
- Represent Marketplace engineering in organizational conversations

Requirements
What you’ll need- Deep working knowledge of cloud-native distributed system development; Azure / GCP / WCNP preferred
- Strong experience building full-stack, multi-platform, large-scale, low-latency systems using microservices and distributed architectures
- Proven experience mentoring engineers, technical leaders, and architects, and leading large engineering efforts with strong engineering excellence and system design rigor
- Strong hands-on coding experience with the ability to go deep on architecture and implementation details
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with product, program management, QA, release management, operations, and engineering teams
- Proven experience designing, developing, and scaling software platforms for large user bases
- Experience with modularity, extensibility, and long-term maintainability
- Strong platform-oriented decision-making balancing technical and business needs
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams
- Strong business acumen
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of current AI tools for engineering
- Bachelor's degree in a specified computer-related field and 6 years' experience, or 8 years' experience in software engineering or related area
- Preferred: BS plus 15 years' experience or MS plus 12 years' experience
