About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and champion architectural blueprints, engineering standards, and best practices
- Set vision for cross-domain and cross-platform integration
- Partner with product and business leaders on technical strategy and capability launches
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption
- Guide technology stacks and platform capabilities for logistics carriers and sellers
- Mentor senior engineers and engineering leaders
- Lead design and implementation of complex, large-scale distributed systems
- Drive observability, automation, CI/CD, and operational best practices
- Champion secure coding, reliability, privacy, and compliance
- Lead technical discovery and requirements analysis for Marketplace initiatives
- Translate business goals into scalable technical solutions
- Resolve conflicting stakeholder requirements
- Shape roadmaps and technical design artifacts
- Drive secure, scalable, highly available systems and platform security
- Oversee system health, vulnerability management, and architectural risk mitigation
- Advise senior leadership and lead cross-functional technical discussions
- Attract, develop, and mentor technical talent
- Drive continuous improvement in architecture, developer productivity, system quality, and operational maturity
Requirements
What you’ll need- Deep working knowledge of cloud-native distributed system development; Azure / GCP / WCNP preferred
- Strong experience building full-stack, multi-platform, large-scale, low-latency systems using microservices and distributed architectures
- Proven experience mentoring engineers, technical leaders, and architects, and leading large engineering efforts
- Strong hands-on coding experience with architecture and implementation expertise
- Experience partnering with product, program management, QA, release management, operations, and engineering teams
- Experience designing, developing, and scaling software platforms for large user bases
- Strong platform-oriented decision-making
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams
- Strong business acumen
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of current AI tools for engineering
- Required alternative 1: Bachelor's degree in a relevant computer science/software engineering field and 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
- Required alternative 2: 8 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
- Preferred: BS in Computer Science or similar plus 15 years or more in the field, or MS in Computer Science and 12 years or more of experience
- Preferred knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices
