About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and drive enterprise Agentic AI architecture for scalable, secure, and resilient multi-agent systems
- Design and evolve highly scalable microservices and modern frontend applications using React, Node.js, GraphQL, Java, Spring Boot, NoSQL, Kafka, and Azure
- Set architectural direction across Cart, Checkout, Promotions, Order Amends, and Platform
- Guide and mentor principal engineers, architects, and engineering managers
- Build frameworks, standards, and tools to improve code quality, reliability, and operational excellence
- Lead technical explorations, evaluate emerging technologies, and incubate future-proof solutions
- Partner with product, UX, program management, and global engineering teams
- Embed security, performance, and fault tolerance across the technology stack
- Own and deliver solutions that improve critical business metrics and digital retail experiences
Requirements
What you’ll need- 16+ years of experience building and scaling complex systems across frontend and backend
- Deep expertise in microservices, distributed systems, cloud platforms, and modern web frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to define and execute cross-domain technical strategy in large, matrixed organizations
- Track record of mentoring senior engineers, leading design forums, and driving engineering culture at scale
- Mastery of Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, React, GraphQL, NoSQL (Cassandra/MongoDB), Kafka, and Azure Cloud
- Strong design sensibility and attention to detail
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to executive audiences, architects, and engineering teams
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 8 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
- Preferred: Master’s degree and 4 years' experience; knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices
