About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Direct heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and critical power maintenance and service operations
- Evaluate facility, equipment, airflow, humidity, and load requirements
- Develop standard operating procedures and facility inspection and preventive maintenance programs
- Execute multiple business plans and projects
- Oversee sustainability initiatives and Environmental Protection Agency compliance programs
- Resolve vendor, service provider, and contractor scope-of-work issues
- Provide technical training
- Manage complex projects, work assignments, workforce planning, inspections, punch lists, material requisitions, and timecards
- Direct regional field operations and track preventive maintenance completion
- Monitor contractor performance and maintenance costs
- Evaluate plans and initiatives with business partners and stakeholders
- Develop and approve budgets for capital expenses, staffing, and compensation increases
- Evaluate return on investment and approve contracts, invoices, purchases, and expenditures
- Prepare labor and material cost estimates and recommend facility improvements and cost reductions
- Manage department budget, warranty reimbursement, and landlord compliance with lease agreements
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R laws, regulations, and guidelines
- Coordinate job-related activities and stakeholder relationships
- Ensure compliance with company policies, mission, values, ethics, and integrity standards
- Hire, train, mentor, assign duties, recognize, and develop associates
- Build high-performing, collaborative, inclusive teams and promote continuous learning
Requirements
What you’ll need- Licensed Master Plumber
- 5 years’ experience in facilities management, construction management, electrical maintenance, engineering, or related area; OR 3 years’ experience in these areas with a bachelor’s degree
- Master Plumber License or equivalent in the state you will be working
- Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field with 3 years’ experience
- Preferred: Building controls or related area
- Preferred: Experience leading cross-functional teams
- Preferred: External work experience as a Maintenance Supervisor in an optical, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environment
- Preferred: Supervisory experience
- Must comply with Walmart’s drug-free workplace policy
