About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Operate a facility services exterior-services department
Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA, EPA, safety, and environmental guidelines
Compare parts, equipment, and travel costs; submit warranty claims
Complete expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, and other forms
Lead, coach, and evaluate third-party providers
Develop and direct quality assurance inspections
Troubleshoot and provide customer service to facility users
Assess and resolve customer problems and complaints
Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy work environment
Evaluate landscaping and exterior replacement needs and implement sustainable facility upgrades
Source tools and equipment and ensure completed work meets quality and safety requirements
Prepare budgets, cost estimates, scopes of work, and capital expenditure lists
Approve and verify purchases of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies
Perform seasonal landscaping, snow and ice management, de-icing, and walkway/drive clearing
Maintain and coordinate servicing of vehicles
Safely operate, inspect, and maneuver heavy machinery, powered equipment, and vehicles
Perform equipment safety checks and address or escalate hazards and malfunctions
Secure and park assigned work vehicles according to Walmart policies
Collaborate with managers, co-workers, customers, and business partners to complete priorities and assignments

Requirements

What you’ll need

21 years of age or older
Valid state-issued driver’s license
No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three years
No more than two moving violations in the last three years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle
No serious traffic violations within the last three years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle
No preventable accidents within the last three years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle
Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre-hire
Ability to read and speak English
2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry
Ability to maintain vehicles in working mechanical and clean condition
Ability to safely operate motor vehicles and heavy machinery
Preferred: Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area
Preferred: Experience in third-party management
Preferred: Intermediate functionality of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Preferred: Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish
Preferred: State/local licensing where required
