About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform routine preventive maintenance on facilities, equipment, and fixtures
- Inspect, clean, troubleshoot, and repair facilities, equipment, and fixtures
- Document wear and tear, preventive maintenance activities, capital expense information, and repair needs
- Determine replacement needs and recommend repairs
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors
- Complete expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, and maintenance logs
- Compare parts and travel-related costs; order and track parts and replacement equipment
- Record purchases and usage and submit warranty claims
- Ensure work complies with OSHA, EPA, and federal, state, and local regulations
- Ensure contractors follow Walmart quality standards, safety requirements, and contract requirements
- Identify and report deficiencies
- Unload, store, and transport equipment between facilities
- Maintain company vehicles and coordinate required vehicle maintenance
- Safely operate motor vehicles and inspect fuel, water levels, brakes, signals, and lights
- Submit maintenance invoices and verify vehicle insurance coverage and validity
- Operate, inspect, and maneuver forklifts, material handling equipment, industrial machines, shop equipment, vehicles, and other powered equipment
- Perform pre-operation safety checks and post-operation inspections
- Identify unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, and hazards; take corrective action or escalate
- Lead and participate in teams, coordinate work assignments, and support timelines and work quality
- Develop and implement processes and practices by collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and business partners
- Monitor progress and results and identify improvement opportunities
- Promote compliance with company policies, procedures, ethics, and integrity standards
- Support Walmart's values, inclusion, customer service, continuous improvement, and associate development
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 5 years of verifiable electrical experience
- Strong working knowledge of single- and three-phase power systems
- Knowledge of building lighting controls and commercial electrical infrastructure
- Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing power-related issues throughout commercial facilities
- Ability to read prints and line diagrams
- Ability to diagnose complex electrical problems safely and efficiently
- Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area; or 4 years' experience in those areas
- Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
- Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five years
- Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
- No serious traffic violations while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
- Preferred: completion of a 2-year vocational or technical trade program
- Preferred: experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Preferred: license in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located
- Preferred: experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Preferred: experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
