About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead Walmart Global Security’s Protective Operations organization
- Oversee Corporate Security, Executive Protection, and Event Safety & Security
- Protect Walmart’s Home Office campus, corporate offices, critical facilities, events, executives, associates, and other designated assets
- Lead security strategy and operations for locations across the United States
- Oversee Physical Security Specialists, bike patrol, Corporate Security Operations Center, and other protective services
- Support critical infrastructure and specialized facilities including data centers, optical laboratories, central fill facilities, and Health & Wellness operations
- Establish standards for physical security, access control, incident response, communications, staffing, training, and operational readiness
- Lead Walmart’s Executive Protection program, including protective intelligence, advance operations, travel security, transportation, and residential considerations
- Lead safety and security planning for major corporate events, board meetings, executive offsites, leadership meetings, and other events
- Integrate threat assessments, venue security, access control, emergency preparedness, medical response, law enforcement coordination, and crisis management into event plans
- Set the future vision for Protective Operations and modernize processes, staffing models, technologies, and protective strategies
- Use technology, data, automation, and artificial intelligence to improve situational awareness, threat identification, response speed, resource deployment, and efficiency
- Partner with technology, innovation, legal, privacy, business, communications, facilities, aviation, and law enforcement stakeholders
- Develop and execute talent strategy, workforce planning, leadership pipeline, and continuous learning
- Establish accountability, operating rhythms, metrics, and continuous improvement
- Develop and manage operating and capital budgets
- Lead critical incidents and maintain clear communication and command
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, company policies, and ethics standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Emergency Management, Risk Management, Security, or related field and 7 years’ experience in security, emergency management, risk management, law enforcement, fire service, or related area OR 9 years’ experience in those areas
- 3 years’ supervisory experience
- 8+ years of experience leading large-scale or multifaceted protective operations
- Significant senior leadership experience in executive protection, corporate security, protective operations, law enforcement, military, intelligence, or a comparable complex security environment
- Experience operating effectively during high-pressure and rapidly evolving situations
- Executive leadership experience developing and leading high-performing teams and leading organizations through transformation and modernization
- Exceptional executive presence, communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience protecting senior executives and supporting highly visible or high-risk events
- Strong business acumen and ability to balance security requirements with operational, cultural, reputational, and business considerations
- Demonstrated ability to modernize operations, challenge established practices, and translate emerging technologies into practical outcomes
- Working understanding of AI, automation, analytics, and emerging physical security technologies
- Ability to lead during critical incidents and make timely decisions with incomplete information
- Ability to develop relationships with federal, state, and local law enforcement and external security partners
- Ability to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and ethical standards
