About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and execute sensory and consumer research
- Translate business questions into appropriate research designs and methodologies
- Independently analyze and interpret data, including statistical testing
- Identify drivers of product performance and provide clear recommendations for improvement
- Manage multiple studies simultaneously from planning through reporting
- Partner with Product Development, Merchandising, Quality, Consumer Insights, and suppliers to integrate Member feedback into product development
- Ensure research meets established scientific and quality standards
- Support in-home, central-location, and other sensory testing experiences
- Support Sam's Club product development and improvement across merchandise categories through sensory and consumer research
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, or related field and 2 years' experience conducting mathematical or statistical research, analysis and modeling intelligence, corporate security, or related area; OR 4 years' experience in the same areas
- Strong knowledge of sensory and consumer research methodologies
- Experience with experimental design, statistical analysis, and data interpretation
- Ability to independently manage research from design through reporting
- Strong product-development and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate technical findings into clear business recommendations
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Preferred: 4+ years of sensory science, consumer research, product research, or related experience
- Preferred: Experience in CPG, retail, manufacturing, or product development
- Preferred qualifications include business analysis and reporting, Microsoft Office, and statistical modeling software
