About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize supplier relationships, product quality, and on-time delivery
- Align sourcing strategies with retail teams and manage critical issues during order execution
- Oversee factory capability, capacity, product quality, and on-time delivery
- Conduct supplier assessments and develop supplier matrices for assigned categories
- Negotiate product pricing and develop sourcing alternatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally to develop sourcing solutions aligned with business needs
- Lead sourcing initiatives and mentor team members
- Monitor production through factory visits and assess supplier performance
- Apply digital tools and continuous improvement practices to optimize sourcing processes
- Leverage market insights to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining company standards and strong supplier partnerships
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain or related area and 3 years’ experience in sourcing OR 5 years’ experience in sourcing, Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain or related areas
- Bilingual in English and one or more language used to transact business in assigned country
- Project Management certification
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management within complex supply chains
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to assess supplier capabilities, conduct factory visits, and manage supplier quality and performance
- Expertise collaborating cross-functionally with business partners and global teams
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring team members and driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Knowledge of trade and political factors impacting sourcing decisions
- Proficiency in stakeholder management and effective communication
- Preferred: experience in retail, manufacturing, or sourcing; experience working for a retailer, major brand, importer, or agent serving a major retail customer
