About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure the health and availability of wired and wireless network connectivity for Walmart US stores, Sam's Club locations, and distribution centers
  • Identify, prioritize, troubleshoot, and resolve network incidents based on impact to associates and customers
  • Use monitoring tools to detect issues proactively and resolve them quickly within defined SLAs
  • Coordinate with counterpart teams, business partners, US engineers, and vendors to resolve issues
  • Handover status to the US shift when the India shift ends
  • Maintain network devices in compliance for efficient operation
  • Maintain store, club, and distribution-center wireless connectivity
  • Troubleshoot wireless slowness, access-point outages, DHCP/DNS issues, PoE, wireless controllers, and connectivity problems
  • Manage wireless escalations, self-service incidents, vendor communications, and ticket queues
  • Perform wired troubleshooting for packet loss, overutilization, down circuits, routing, voice, end-device connectivity, cabling, hardware, and spanning-tree issues
  • Work with L3, Cisco TAC, field support, project supervisors, store planners, systems teams, and third-party vendors
  • Monitor tickets and ensure they remain within SLA
  • Configure ports and assist with down systems and power situations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 3–4 years of pure network engineering experience in a NOC environment or project implementation team
  • Hands-on experience with routers, switches, and access points
  • Networking background with hands-on Routing & Switching experience (CCNA/JNCIA/CCNP)
  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Meraki platforms and network hardware
  • Experience with RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS, and BGP
  • Strong troubleshooting skills on Juniper, Cisco, and Meraki devices
  • SDN knowledge
  • Understanding of VLAN, VTP, STP, RSTP, Ether-Channels (PAGP & LACP), and stacking
  • Basic knowledge of Broadcast, ARP, and MAC address concepts
  • Wired and wireless networking knowledge
  • Hands-on VLAN troubleshooting experience
  • HSRP implementation and troubleshooting experience
  • Hands-on MPLS experience
  • IPSEC and DMVPN experience
  • Wireless troubleshooting experience with CAPWAP, LWAPP, Cisco APs, Mist APs, Meraki MR46 APs, and wireless controllers
  • Experience using ServiceNow and Wireshark
  • WLAN IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax test experience
  • Independent project handling and analytical ability
  • Knowledge of Linux and Python/AI automation is good to have
  • Knowledge of Nexus, automation, and SD-WAN technologies is an added advantage
  • Python, Perl, or TCL automation scripting knowledge is an added advantage
  • Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, electrical engineering, or related area, OR 3 years' experience in large-scale networking environments or related area
  • Cisco certification is preferred
