Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead platform engineering efforts delivering scalable infrastructure, reusable tooling, and advanced ML frameworks
  • Architect and implement cloud-native distributed systems with high availability, fault tolerance, and real-time processing
  • Oversee coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, monitoring, and incident response across multiple teams
  • Integrate AI/ML technologies into software products to improve customer and associate experiences
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship
  • Promote engineering best practices and innovation
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable outcomes with stakeholders
  • Maintain architectural documentation
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with Marketplace Tech teams building platforms connecting customers with third-party sellers
  • Define success metrics, conduct experiments, and develop predictive and causal solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
  • Extensive experience in platform engineering leadership
  • Expertise in cloud-native architecture and distributed system design
  • Strong skills across the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and incident response
  • Proficiency in AI/ML integration and intelligent software systems using Python, Java, and C++
  • Experience building highly available, high-performance, redundant, and scalable distributed systems
  • Experience documenting high-level and low-level technical design documents
  • Experience designing and developing high-performance microservices using Java, Golang, and Scala
  • Experience implementing low-latency, highly reliable REST APIs in Golang
  • Experience building event-driven systems using Kafka
  • Experience integrating Cassandra and DB2 databases and optimizing query performance
  • Experience optimizing Golang microservices using profiling, concurrency, and caching
  • Experience refactoring monolith services into scalable Golang microservices
  • Experience integrating Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana for production monitoring
  • Experience deploying containerized services on Kubernetes
  • Experience performing code reviews in Golang, Java, and Scala
  • Experience mentoring junior associates
  • Experience collaborating with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines
