About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Code, unit test, and build high-performance, scalable applications for millions of Walmart International customers
Design, architect, and deliver one or more systems/products end to end
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable technical solutions
Estimate effort, identify risks, prioritize work, and devise and meet project schedules
Improve engineering best practices through high-quality code, documentation, testing, and monitoring
Build and maintain systems compliant with certification, regulatory standards, and information-security programs
Analyze and test programs/products before formal launch
Mentor and coach engineers to support their development
Develop microservices and applications supporting Walmart's supply-chain operations, inventory management, replenishment, fulfillment, and transportation

Requirements

What you’ll need

BE/BTech/ME/MTech/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
14+ years of strong design/development experience in massively large-scale distributed systems and products
Expertise in data analysis and engineering
Extensive experience architecting and developing real-time multithreaded Java applications that are fault-tolerant, scalable, and handle high volumes
Excellent computer systems fundamentals, data structures/algorithms, and problem-solving skills
Expertise in object-oriented design and design patterns
Coding experience in Java, Spring Framework, Oracle, NoSQL databases, Docker, and Kubernetes
Exposure to public cloud infrastructure such as OpenStack, Azure, GCP, or AWS
Experience developing and designing applications and web services in a Service-Oriented Architecture, including RESTful services and API gateways
Experience mentoring junior developers and improving software engineering practices
Bachelor's degree and 5 years' software engineering experience, or 7 years' software engineering experience
Master's degree and 3 years' experience listed as preferred, not required
