About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Code, unit test, and build high-performance, scalable applications for Walmart International customers
Design, architect, and deliver one or more systems/products end to end
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable technical solutions
Estimate effort, identify risks, prioritize work, and devise and meet project schedules
Improve engineering best practices, code quality, documentation, testing, and monitoring
Build and maintain systems compliant with certification, regulatory standards, and information-security programs
Analyze and test programs/products before formal launch
Mentor and coach engineers and junior developers
Develop microservices supporting supply-chain operations and applications used by warehouse associates
Design and operate applications used in Walmart’s supply chain

Requirements

What you’ll need

BE/BTech/ME/MTech/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
15+ years of strong design/development experience in massively large-scale distributed systems and products
Expertise in data analysis and engineering
Extensive experience architecting and developing real-time multithreaded Java applications that are fault-tolerant, scalable, and handle high volumes
Excellent computer systems fundamentals, data structures/algorithms, and problem-solving skills
Expertise in object-oriented design and design patterns
Coding experience in Java, Spring Framework, Oracle, NoSQL databases, Docker, and Kubernetes
Exposure to public cloud infrastructure such as OpenStack, Azure, GCP, or AWS
Experience developing and designing applications and web services in Service-Oriented Architecture, including RESTful services and API gateways
Large-scale distributed systems experience, including scalability and fault tolerance
Full-stack experience with Java, React, and Node.js is nice to have
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
Excellent organization, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
