Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead platform engineering efforts delivering scalable, cloud-native infrastructure and reusable tooling aligned with strategic roadmaps
  • Drive the full software development lifecycle, including design, testing, deployment, and maintenance of distributed systems optimized for AI/ML integration
  • Architect intelligent software solutions using model-driven design and advanced programming languages
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship across teams
  • Influence architectural standards and foster engineering excellence
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable success metrics
  • Promote continuous improvement, innovation, knowledge sharing, and software engineering best practices
  • Design agentic workflows that safely call internal MCP tools and Java/Spring Boot microservices, including authentication and guardrails
  • Support scalable, enterprise-grade sourcing and product development solutions for Walmart

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
  • Extensive experience in platform engineering leadership
  • Expertise in cloud-native architecture and distributed system design
  • Experience with CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and incident response
  • Proficiency in AI/ML integration and intelligent software systems using Python, Java, and C++
  • Technical mentorship and architectural decision-making across multiple teams
  • Experience designing, extending, or operating MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers
  • Experience building or integrating with super-agent systems, including agent orchestration, tool-calling, and prompt/skill design
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related field
